FEATURES

Ter Orchidee is a potting soil formulated in line with the latest innovative cultivation techniques to meet the requirements of all orchid species.
Based on selected maritime pine bark and blond peat, it ensures good structural stability, ideal for plant anchorage, it guarantees high porosity, lightness, slow-decomposing organic nature and the right moisture at root level.
Ter Orchidee is also able to ensure optimal growth of even the most delicate species, especially in the early stages after potting and transplanting. It is suitable for the development of Cattleya, Cymbidium, Vanda, Oncidium, Paphiopedilum, Cypripedium and Phalaenopsis orchid species.

METHOD OF USE

It is recommended to repot orchids only when the pot becomes too small for the plants or when the substrate begins to degrade.
The optimal period for repotting coincides with the vegetative awakening, when the new shoots are 2 cm long and the apices of the new roots are still green.

TIPS FOR PROPER REPOTTING

  • Choose a pot 3-5 cm larger in diameter than the previous one;
  • take the plant out of the pot, clean the roots from the old substrate by removing the dead parts, shorten the ones that are too long by a few cm, remove the dry sheaths of the pseudobulbs and the withered parts of the rhizome, cutting off the oldest end;
  • place 5 cm of expanded clay and a layer of orchid soil at the base of the new pot, put the plant and fill the pot with soil so that the collar (the junction between the root and the aerial part) is 1-2 cm below the rim of the pot.
  • place the plant out of the light and water sparingly (one or two sprays a day) until it starts to vegetate normally again. Then return to the light, water and fertilise taking into account the requirements of the species and respecting the doses and timing stated on the package.
